​About the Artist​

Yu Shou-Chung, born in 1965, graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at Fuxing College of Arts, earned a Master's degree in Art from Fontbonne University in Missouri, USA, and holds a Ph.D. in Design from the Department of Digital Media at Asia University. He excels in using deep, steady tones to subtly convey inner imagery and emotions in his figurative works. His pieces combine delicacy with ruggedness, and within the complex and rich expressions, there is an underlying simplicity and clarity. The layered use of shapes, colors, points, and lines—sometimes strong, sometimes soft—along with the gentle and introspective composition, reveal the artist’s sensitivity and persistence. The overall harmonious composition contains emotionally stirring content, while also delivering a profound aesthetic impact to the viewer through its forms and colors.
