About the Artist

Yolanda Pong was born in Beijing and moved with her family to Hong Kong at the age of six, later relocating to Taipei, Taiwan in 1987. She attended Fuxing Commercial and Industrial Vocational School in Taipei and graduated in 1995 from the Western Painting Department at the National Institute of the Arts. She then went to the United States to study painting at Fontbonne University in Missouri, where she received her degree in 2004.

Yolanda Pong's artwork primarily uses mixed media, with a focus on black, white, gray, and metallic colors. Her paintings emphasize spatial structure and balance, embodying the purest essence of painting. In recent years, she has also delved into soft sculpture creation. Her works have been exhibited in Taiwan, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, and New York.

Since 2009, Yolanda Pong has collaborated with TLC Channel to host the program "Pong Knocks on Doors," which explores unique and interesting spaces and designs across Taiwan. Her show has been nominated twice for the Golden Bell Award for Best Comprehensive Program and won the Best Host Award for Comprehensive Programs at the 45th Golden Bell Awards in 2010.
