Ko Shih-Chung
About the Artist
Ko Shih-Chung, born in 1966 in a family of artists in Nantou, Taiwan. His father, Ko Yao-Dong, is a renowned ink painter in Taiwan, while his mother, Kuo Chia-Guei, is famous for her bird-and-flower paintings. In 1987, he graduated from the Western Painting Department of the National Taiwan University of Arts, and in 1991, he earned a Master's degree in Fine Arts from Fontbonne University in the United States.
In recent years, Ko has explored new creative expressions through various forms, including abstract landscapes and self-portraits. Using abstract horizontal landscapes as a starting point, he further pushes toward the sensory limits of inner landscapes. Through layers of paint, his works reveal his ongoing artistic exploration in constantly revising his approach to the representation of landscapes.
