About the Artist
Chang Cheng was born in 1963 in Acheng, Heilongjiang Province, China. In 2001, he pursued advanced studies in the Department of Mural Painting at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. He is currently a professional painter based in Beijing. His works are held in private and institutional collections across China, the United States, France, Switzerland, Germany, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan.
Chang is dedicated to exploring how the language of oil painting can embody the poetic sensibility and spiritual depth that are essential to Chinese aesthetics. Through a process of integrating Eastern philosophy with Western painting techniques, he has developed a unique visual vocabulary that resists categorization and remains uninfluenced by prevailing trends. His paintings are marked by quiet captivation and reflective depth. With a refined simplicity, he offers profound meditations on time, nature, and the inner self.
