Yin Kun
About the Artist
Yin Kun, born in 1969 in Deyang, Sichuan Province, graduated in 1992 from the Fine Arts Department of Aba Teachers College in Sichuan. The following year, he moved to Beijing and became a freelance artist. His works have been featured in numerous domestic and international exhibitions and are held in collections worldwide.
Yin Kun is a talented, sensitive, and proactive young artist. For him, painting is a means of expressing life, emotions, sensitivity, and neurosis, or rather, a form of documentation. His works address a wide range of social issues, depicting the general indifference of contemporary society toward certain abnormal phenomena while revealing the core and underlying causes of these issues. Yin Kun focuses on the survival experiences and real-life feelings of contemporary people, incorporating pop art, cynical realism, and kitsch styles into his artistic forms and visual language. His vibrant use of color aims to evoke hope and an optimistic attitude toward life.
