About the Artist

​

Yu Xuan, born in 1984 and currently residing in Taipei, has been creating art for many years. He graduated in 2002 from the Department of Fine Arts at Fuxing Commercial and Industrial Vocational High School, and during his studies in 2001, he won the 7th Japan High School International Art and Fine Arts Award.

Yu Xuan's work is based on techniques such as sculpture, mold-making, and circuitry, combined with highly realistic painting to create fictional installation art that showcases captivating and futuristic scenes. His creative inspiration comes from everyday life, especially from seemingly insignificant and neglected sights, such as crumbling walls, wilting flowers, and damaged industrial machinery. These otherwise overlooked elements, often deemed meaningless, are reinterpreted and given new significance in his art.

In Yu Xuan's works, life and objects are reborn from their decay and damage, presenting a form of beauty. His art not only breathes new life into these scenes but also freezes time, creating images that transform fleeting moments into eternity.
